This evening, it became quite apparent that my old refrigerator did not survive the shock and stress of the week without electricity. In the weeks since the power returned, there have been some strange noises here and there, but today it was really bad. I realize now that it was the death rattle.
Rest in peace old friend. Thanks for all the ice cubes and keeping my dairy products cold.
I've decided that I need a signature look for autumn, and I think that it will be large silk wraps. It's been coming for years. It started with scarves and hats in high school and college. Now I'm moving onto the wraps. Eventually, I will be the white-haired lady who wears turbans. Not the hand-towel-with-a-brooch Little Edie Beale kind of turban, but some elaborate piece of fabric wrapped around my head. That, of course, will be once I've reached the right age when I'll say whatever the hell I want to...not that anything really stops me from that now...I just think it will happen more frequently in my golden years. People will either get the joke or just think I'm some crazy old woman. I'd be happy either way.

After a busy summer, I've been gearing up for an even busier autumn. Why does it seem that my favorite season always flies by?? I'm determined to enjoy my autumn, despite all of the new projects that I'm doing, one of which is batik table linens. Here is one of the first sets that I've completed for your perusal. Look for future updates with more colors and other new items.
