I spent the entire month of November getting ready for shows, and once December arrived, I realized that there was so much everyday life stuff that hadn't been done. So, I took a bit of a break from here to do some of those things. I also didn't get my holiday cards designed early as I usually do, but now, I'm just waiting for them to arrive from the printers. Perhaps I should do some hand-strengthening exercises to get ready for all of the writing I'll be doing next week. In the meantime, I'll do all my other holiday preparations. The living room is decorated, and my tree is up, lit, and ornamented. It does help that red is one of my main colors in my home decor. All of the greenery and jeweltones just fit right in with everything else. My baking pantry has been replenished, and I'm gearing up for a cookie/bread/cake marathon next week. I've got a few different cookies that I want to make, and I'm in charge of all the baking for Christmas dinner. I'm also hosting a dinner for my family for Yule, so it's time to start thinking about the wassail and such. I'm hoping to have everything done by next Saturday afternoon, as my brother will be arriving from Japan for his first Christmas at home in about four or five years. Once he's here, I want to have my time free for spending it with the family.
